Katherine Fergus is a native of the Pacific Northwest and for the past 11 years she has been living here in Humboldt County with her husband, raising their two children. They relocated here to the Redwoods from Costa Rica, where they lived for nearly 8 years.
Katherine is a huge advocate of creating strong communities through active participation and involvement. Since her children were small she has played a strong leadership role in their school’s community from volunteering in the classroom to sitting on various committees and boards. Among them, the School’s Non-Profit PTO. She has also played a large role in the creation, organization and execution of the school’s top producing fundraiser for the past 5 years running.
The world of Real Estate was a clear path for Katherine. It blends her desire and experience of working with the community, her service industry background, and her more recent involvement in the design and logistical aspects of remodels and building projects along with her husband, a local Electrical Contractor. Through her journey Katherine has become very familiar with the processes and regulations of the county building Department including the Alternative building permit, a great option for people wanting to build and develop their rural property in a green, sustainable fashion. She has a real love of land, architecture, and interior design with a particular interest and appreciation of Rural Custom Homes.
In the little free time Katherine has, she enjoys playing music, hosting dinner parties, creating art, doing yoga, working on construction projects and spending time with her family.
